#140  Boys Zouave, 2 pc. Suit  c. 1860

Materials: Cotton Velveteen, braid, Dorset buttons, cotton sateen lining. 

Measurements: Jacket: sh - sh 10 1/4", center back L 13", slv L 13 1/4".

Condition: Jacket:  Excellent. Knickers: velvet faded where sat upon, velvet has many small stains, braid on right side is torn in two places, Dorset buttons on knee buckles and just above show wear.

 Comments: The velvet Zouave suit for boys was the typical "dress up" clothes for boys in the mid 19th Century. Suit is fully lined, very well made.
