#2662  Little Boy's Vest  1850-1860

  United States

Materials:
Wool and cotton stripe fabric, muslin lining and back, five glass buttons.

Condition: Very Good. Stains on muslin back, fabric slightly faded, few small worn spots in wool.

Measurements:   Sh-Sh, 9.5"; Chest, 18"; Vest L, 10.5"; Hem C, 24".

Comments: Entirely hand sewn. Vest is charming for it's homey flaws - the stripes that don't align, patchwork band collar, and faux pockets. This vest was worn by a little boy of about four years of age from a working or middle class family.
