handmade bobbin lace.
Condition: Perfect. This was probably
never used.

Comments: This is superior quality
Milanese bobbin lace and quite unusual to find an example of this
lace in a bertha. The pattern is one of flowing,
naturalistic flowers and leaves. Overall the lace is exquisitely worked
in a clear, balanced design. The flowers and leaves have a raised
cordonnet giving this beautiful lace a sculptural quality, so typical of
the great Italian laces.
