Materials:
Cotton coutil, steel stays and fastenings, cotton thread, bobbin lace, silk ribbon.

Label: Stamped on inside, "Royal Worcester Style 525 Dowager", "Double Bones Throughout"; "24".

Condition: Excellent; nearly like new. Minor light stains on inside and one small spot above left front garter.

Measurements: Waist, 23"; Front L, 15.5"; Back L, 12.75".

Comments: The Royal Worcester Corset Company, in a 1900 advertisement, boasted that, "The Dowager corset for stout figures...(is) worn by thousands and endorsed by them as the best corset ever produced."  See page 116 of R.L.Shep's CORSETS: A Visual History.  On this corset the side boning has an exaggerated curve.
