Comments: An extremely rare piece entirely hand sewn by an excellent seamstress.  This is a fascinating garment for many reasons:  1) The flannel fabric hints of at-home confinement, yet the bold color combination and elegant touch of pink silk gingham and black ribbon trim does not!  2) The clever interior construction of drawn ties allows for extended maternity use.  3)  Workmanship is of extremely high quality and style.  4)   Fashion was not sacrificed to comfort.  The dress opening has easily accessible hooks and eyes, yet false buttons adorn it as well. The practical exterior pockets are very fashionable.  5) Was this mother-to-be intentionally making a statement in her choice of the "Love" flour sack?...
