Materials:
Chantilly bobbin lace hand made with  stiffened silk thread.

Condition: Very Good. There are two 3/4" areas of the net (toile) where the joining thread has unraveled (could be repaired, yet as is, it is not very noticeable).

Measurements: Wd, 11.5"; L, 34".

Comments: In the the mid 19th century women wore fall caps (also called fascinators) for formal indoor occasions. This example of hand made Chantilly lace may have been a mourning head dress.
