Comments: The slightly raised waist,
sloping shoulders, cartridge pleated skirt and wide bell sleeves
indicate a date in the early 1850s. This one piece cotton day dress is
shown with chemisette and undersleeve set #2375 found in Museum
Archives. 19th century cotton
prints are among the most sought after garments by knowledgeable
collectors. A charming vertical print and the lilac color makes this an
even more desirable dress.
