Materials: Burgundy/plum silk velvet,
mink trim, burgundy silk charmeuse lining, two fabric covered buttons.
Label: Woven gold on black silk,
"Callot Soeurs PARIS".
Condition: Excellent. Velvet has no
stains or tears; there are a few pinhead sized spots where the velvet
pile is missing (moth snacks? not easily visible). Lining is an exact replica of
original and in perfect condition.
Measurements: Coat L, 42". Will fit
size 4-8.
Comments: The house of Callot Soeurs was
among the most celebrated of Parisian couturiers in the early 20th
century. The three sisters Callot were famous for the exquisite
workmanship and attention to detail found in their celebrated creations.
This cocoon coat is fashioned from a superb silk
velvet in a rich plum burgundy color. The coat's cut is elegant and
dramatic. The piped, undulating horizontal seam is perfectly balanced by
the fur trimmed cuffs and neckline. Original Callot Soeurs clothing is
rarely available to collectors for purchase. Couture clothing will always
be a wise investment and appreciate in value!
