Comments: This late 1920's
dance dress is quite wonderful. Except for the revealing open neck
and back areas, the entire dress is covered in glittering sequins and
jet beads. I have photographed the dress over a nude color slip
(not included), to best highlight the unusual neckline. A single
tiny red glass bead is partially hidden in the back skirt, indicating
that this dress is completely hand beaded (see bead next to yellow
pin-head in photo). The sequin pattern is very deco in its design,
consisting of overlapping concentric semi-circles, outlined in jet
beads. The semi-circle pattern is repeated in vertical gored
bands which gives the skirt an incredible swing. This is a dress
needed to be seen on the dance floor! |
