#2329   Beaded Dance Dress   c. 1925

Materials: Black silk georgette, black silk chiffon, silver lame lining, black sequins, two sizes of silver sequins, rhinestones, silver bugle beads, silver glass beads, silver glass balls.

Label: Small cloth tape, sewn in, with "29" written in ink.

Condition: Near perfect. Other than one tiny pin hole in the black georgette at the back (not visible), I can't find anything wrong with this dress.

Measurements:  B, 36"; H, 42"; Dress L, 42";  Lining Hem C, 42"; Dress Hem C, 178".

Comments: Simply one of the best 1920s hand beaded dance dresses I've ever seen. I am sure it was made in France or Europe. A ruffle of black chiffon trims the hem of both the silver lame lining and the beaded georgette dress. The lower half of the bodice and the entire flared skirt are covered in sequins and beads. The silver insets of beading, sequins and rhinestones are three dimensional and marvelous. For those who love opulence and glitter, this is a dress for you.
