Materials: Silk chiffon,
printed and brocaded with silver lame; rhinestones, tiny sequins in
silver, red and cream.
Condition: Excellent.

Comments: Fabulous deco poppy and
starburst printed silk chiffon. The larger starbursts are brocaded with
silver thread and are embellished with silver sequins and rhinestones.
The poppies and other abstract shapes are decorated with colored
sequins. Elements of the 1920s straight silhouette and that of the 1930s
glamorous body-clinging styles can be seen in this piece. The gown falls
straight past the hips, softened in the back by a sensuous draped
neckline. The skirt, including a deep train, is quite full and cut on
the bias. An elegant and showy evening gown.
