Comments: Ceil Chapman headed the list
of emerging American designers gaining world wide recognition during the
1940s. Her signature style was a small fitted bodice paired with a full
skirt. This sexy strapless dress is made demure by its soft pink color,
an attached-to-the-shoulder stole and rows of pleated flounces on the
skirt. This romantic dress, so beautifully crafted, illustrates why Chapman was such a
favorite with the women who bought her clothes.
